The TC-45-BT-3 is designed to measure the ignition resistant properties of blankets by applying a standardized flame to the surface of a horizontally mounted fabric specimen for a specific time under controlled conditions.

Materials are classified based on the presence of burning, charring, and discoloration on a paper monitor located below the specimen.
